1979 Subaru Brat 2 door.
This is a good running project car. The engine has good compression, 130 on all 4. It may only have 40,000 miles. The original smogger carburetor was not worth rebuilding. I welded a universal 2-bbl flange on the intake that fits a Weber DGAV or Rochester. It has a Rochester with electric choke and runs great. I replaced the transaxle with a very low mile used one. Shifting and 4wd are good. I cleaned the rear brake cylinders and changed the brake fluid. Everything worked but the master cylinder bled down. I’m waiting on a new one. Only the fronts work now. The lights and horn work. New tires. The exhaust is sound. New radiator. I removed and cleaned the fuel tank and all fuel lines. Parking brake works. The mice got in. I removed the interior, cleaned it, and replaced the carpet. The dash still needs to come out for cleaning. The windshield is cracked but useable. Spare used struts, front rotors, tonneau cover. and pedals. The rust is not bad for an old Subaru. It comes with two toppers.
