More Details & Pictures

1984 Subaru Brat w/AC PB and 5 sp manual transmission.

Has optional factory brush guard, bed topper and rare light duty trailer hitch.
This Brat has been modified with SJR 4 inch body lift allowing 16 inch Toyota 6 lug wheels to be used.
The original 13 inch wheels will be included with the sale.
The original engine was rebuilt and fuel injected by Ram Racing engines of Blackstock SC. The fuel injection is controlled by a Simple Digital System EM-5.
The original 4 speed transmission was replaced with a later model 5 speed with the Hi/Lo range option.
When the body lift was done, the front struts were changed to coil overs using the original strut. The Coil overs were manufactured by “Ground Control” in Shingle Springs, CA.
To do the body lift and larger tires, no wheel wells or body parts were cut out or modified. This car can be taken back to original ride height and wheel size.
While the car has 219,000 miles the body is in pretty good condition.
There is some rust in the normal Brat locations (ie wheel wells in the bed) and a place on the driver’s door as well as one on the tailgate. This car has had only one repaint of the original color. The full body stripe was added after the paint was done. Other than the rust locations the paint is holding up very well. The carpet is original. The seats have been reupholstered and are in great condition. All glass to include removable roof glass is in great condition without chips or cracks. Rear sliding windows work as they should. There are two sets of jump seats with seat belts. The radio is not original, but we have an original AM/FM with a matching blue color unmodified console. This car was originally purchased in Indiana and was transplanted to Southern California where it has lived most of its life. I purchased the vehicle in northern Illinois and drove it up all the way to Rhinelander, and it handled the drive like a champ. To the best of my knowledge, I am the third owner. I have the original window sticker.

*Will need a trailer*

Mechanically, the car is sound and the transmission is in great condition; however there is an electrical problem which I cannot locate on my own and simply don’t have time to work on it. At first I thought the issue was related to the alternator, but I replaced it with a newly refurbished one and the issue remains.
