This is my 1985 Subaru Brat GL 4×4.
I have owned this Subaru Brat for quite a few months now and have been doing work on it to get it running well. This Brat features an EA81 1.8L 4 cylinder engine, a manual 4 speed transmission, high and low range 4wd. Engine was rebuilt during 2021 by the previous owner. Has factory installed seats and seat belts in the back, t-tops work well and are in good condition. Recent maintenance and repairs include:
Oil change
Spark plugs and wires
New tires
KYB shocks
Front Cv axles
Ball joints
Antenna
Rear fuel filter
Timing adjustment
Thermostat
Engine rebuilt in 2021 by previous owner
I have new tie rod ends but have not installed them yet, I also have a spare fuel filter, and oil cap.
Car runs and drives well, it is a very enjoyable and fun car to drive. It is old a definitely has some issues also. The body has some rust main areas are, rust spot on door, bed fenders are rusted, spot on rear wheel well. Windshield is not sealed perfectly, I temporarily put a bit of gasket around to prevent leaking till I get a new one. Tie rods, but have new ones.
