1989 Subaru BRAT, EA81 4 speed D/R, rare truck!

It has an EA81 with a weber 32/36, engine starts up immediately. Transmission and dual range 4×4 work great. Mileage is approximate, I forgot to look when I was taking photos.

I’ve held on to this truck for a long time planning on lifting it and taking it around up north. I am selling because I want to get a small fishing boat and I have an F350 as a project and have never been able to make the time to finish this truck. It is a very capable off-road vehicle, has always been a great time at Bundy Hill and on forest Trails and will make for a great project.

It has custom CNC Aluminum wheel adapters to take it from 4×140 to 5×100 bolt pattern, these run for around $340 for the set. The windshield has a crack in it but the T-Tops, Rear Sliders and side windows are in perfect shape and the T-Tops work perfectly. I have a large amount of spare parts that will come with it, roughly 2 Tupperware containers, I have grills and skid plates and interior parts and other things. A core transmission will be included. I have around a dozen of the original 4×140 13 inch wheels with tires if you want them, but it will come on 15″ 5×100 steel wheels with stock legacy size tires on it. For an additional $200 I will include a phase 1 EJ22

The choke is not currently hooked up, but manually choking it works fine. It is straight piped, with the pipe ending at the rear axle. Hood is painted flat black, custom front bumper with hitch mount. Ignition, starter, fuel pump and radiator fan are on switches on center console. The heat/cool does not currently work, it used to and I never cared to fix it because I only use it in the summer.

Engine has a tap in the valve train, it is the valve closest to the passenger. It needs to be adjusted and the retaining nut replaced, I may fix this if I get time. Below there is a link to a video of it running. The timing could use some adjustment as well but it drives strong. I have a phase 1 EJ22 I can include with the car for $150.

The body is rusty, the important parts are solid. I have tried to document the rust situation as well as I can. It has a clear MI title.

This will need to be trailered or towed home, I have not had it on the road in a long long time. Delivery could possibly be arranged for a fee depending on fuel cost and distance.

Ideally would like to trade for 12-16ft V-Hull boat with Running Motor and Trailer. Send pics/vids of whatever kind of boat you’ve got, if it needs a little work that’s okay.
