*The Story*
I bought this to rebuild for a special trip. The trip is over and now I want to put the money into another project. It has a rebuilt 1.8 liter EA81 with hydraulic lifters. That means they don’t need to be adjusted all the time. It has a 5 speed Hi/Low tranny attached. While the engine was out, I repainted the engine bay and the bed with a high quality single stage paint (proper automotive grade). The rear rumble seats are still installed. It is currently covered in epoxy primer. There is some ‘extra art’ on the drivers side that can easily be removed before final paint. Being in epoxy primer, it makes for a great candidate for a complete paint job with very little additional work if you so desire. If you do not, it is sealed and will last many many years to come.
*New*
1800 engine with only 1200 miles on it.
Alternator
Weber carb
Electronic Ignition (no points to wear out or adjust)
5 speed Hi/Lo Tranny
Tires (1200 miles on them)
brakes
Front end bushings
Interior
Ignition switch
Fuel Pump
Exhaust
Radio
Speakers
Battery
*Parts that need attention*
while I have a tailgate, it should be replaced or repaired.
I put a new radio in it, but its display says I need to call the manufacturer for the code.
I reupholstered the dash, but the glue was old and didn’t work properly. It is an easy fix, but I don’t have the time for it.
I built a tent/tarp for the trip I took in it. I am including it with the sale. I can remove it if you would like. The tailgate is not in the pictures, but has excessive rust. It is a 1978 Brat, so there are plenty of little things that it could use, but none of them are required for it to be a daily driver.
I really wanted to keep this fun car, but I have a couple other projects that I would like the money to go to.
Thanks,
Shawn
